Nelson Carriço has a degree in water resources engineering, a master's degree in hydraulics and water resources, a doctorate in civil engineering, and attended the information technologies degree not concluding it. He has several complementary trainees, namely in quality and environment, technical drawing, BIM and geographic information systems. He worked for 5 years as a consultant and designer in the area of urban hydraulic engineering, was a research fellow at Instituto Superior Técnico for 5 years, and works as a professor of higher polytechnic education from 2012-2014 at Instituto Superior Politécnico Autónomo (IPA), and since 2014 at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. He has participated in and coordinated several research projects and has relevant scientific activity.
