Objetivos
In the Construction Physics curricular unit, the student should adquire fundamental knowledge related to the construction sciences, namely hygrothermics, acoustics, ventilation and natural lighting.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
In the Construction Physics curricular unit, the student should be able to:
i) to design, with scientific knowledge, the current constructions, taking into consideration the respect of the existing legislation, regulation and standardization and the most up-to-date knowledge in the area of Construction Physics;
ii) carry out design, design, construction, supervision and evaluation work involving the choice of the most appropriate constructive solutions, through a comparative analysis of different solutions, and the preparation of supporting calculations that demonstrate their suitability.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
In the course of the classes, the presentation of the material is preferred by the use of slide shows and the elaboration of details in the table. The resolution of practical cases and exercises is accompanied by the respective slides or carried out on the board, by the teacher or sometimes by students. The constructive participation of students in class is encouraged and valued. Study visits are planned for thermal and acoustic rehabilitation works and lectures are organized for students.
Continuous assessment; Regular Exercices (20%) + Test 1 (40%) + Test 2 (40%)
Exzam assessment: Exam (100%).
Due to the epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus SRAS-CoV-2, applies:
In the course of the classes, preference is given to exposing the subjects using the use of slide presentations and making details on the whiteboard, via the ZOOM platform. The resolution of practical cases and exercises is performed on the board (whiteboard), by the teacher or, sometimes, by students, via the ZOOM platform.
The assessment methodology comprises Regular Exercices and 2 Tests, non presencial.
Continuous assessment: 20% Regular Exercices + 40% Test 1 + 40% Test 2
Exam assessment: 100% Exam
In the case os a Test/Exam with a score higher than 16 values, an oral test is foreseen.
In the case of suspected fraud, oral test is foreseen for students with Test/Exam with a score higher than 9,5 values.
