Objetivos
In Fundaments in Bioprocess the student should develop the ability to solve simple mathematical calculationsin order to quantify the transformation of raw materials into finished products, while also giving importance to consumption or production of energy.Throughout this model, students should acquire the following competencies:- Implement mass and energy balances to operations unit and chemical processes with multiple steps.- Classify and determine sensible heat, latent heats and heats of reaction.- Implement combined mass balance and energy to any process.- Solve problems involving mass and energy balances in non-stationary state

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
Lectures with exposition technique to depiction the proposed concepts by stimulating the student to an logic and critical thinking and also propose to the students, in an autonomous manner, the resolution of practicalexamples to implement the concepts outlined above.
continuous evaluation (face-to-face) 1st minitest * 0.1 + 2nd minitest * 0.1 + 3ºminitest*0.1 + 4th test * 0.7
continuous evaluation (moodle platform distance) 1st minitest * 0.1 + 2nd minitest * 0.1 + 3rd minitest*0.1 + 4th test * 0.7
Evaluation by exam (all epotheans): 100% Exam. In case it is not possible to take the test/exam in person, due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, teachers may require students to take an oral test to all students who have obtained a rating equal to or greater than 9.5 values. The final grade will be obtained in the oral test.
