Objetivos

The main goal of this curricular unit is to lead the student to apply the knowledge and skills developed during the degree in new situations, to solve a new problem. Other goals of this UC are:

i) learn how to write a CV, a motivation letter and how to get prepared for a job interview;

ii) take conscience about the importance of communication in his future performance as an professional in its formation field; to prepare and present reports of complex tasks;

iii) to know the main activities of prospecting, exploration and production in Oil and Gas Industries.

Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

Have obtained approval for an ECTS number equal to or higher than 130.
Do not exceed 42 ECTS for approval in the semester.
CU Laboratory I and Petroleum Technologies Laboratory IA, IIA and IIIA approved.

Programa

- To develop a project in Energy Sector of the Prospecting and Production Branch, with individualized Work Plans

- To write a Curriculum Vitae and a motivation letter

- How to behave in a job interview

- To know different activieties related to prospecting, exploration and production in Petroleum and Gas industry.

- To write a project report

- To present and defend the obtained results in a foreign language (English).

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The student participates in seminars related to the insertion in the labor market and in seminaries given by professionals in the area.
The student carries out a project or internship in the area.

After concluding a project or internship, the students produce a report, which is presented in English and discussed with the referees.

The final mark is given by the referees (supervisors are always included).
