Objetivos

Provide expertise in the following areas
- Know principles of operation of power conversion equipment using combustion: combustion, fuels, oxidants,
combustion products, emissions, flames;
- Know about the main energy conversion technologies using combustion for heat production
- Know about power cycles; cogeneration; fuel cells and hydrogen; biomass and gasification
- To have knowledge of alternative sources of energy, including renewable energy

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

Providing the following skills:
- Know how to explain the fundamental principles of combustion, heat production and electricity systems
- Know how to explain the operation principles of a conventional central of electric power production and production with renewable energy systems.
- Collaborate, analyse, develope and participate in studies involved equipment and technology operation

Obtenção de frequência

Assessment is continuous and is based on mandatory laboratory work and two tests to be carried out during the semester. At the time of exams, the recovery of tests and laboratories in arrears is carried out.
To obtain classification in the laboratory, it is mandatory to prepare all test reports and laboratory work.
In order to be considered in the evaluation, the reports must all be delivered on time and individually approved with a minimum grade of 10 values. Reports will be given an overall grade.
The minimum grade for each test is 8.5 values. The test average must be equal to or greater than 9.5 values.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Final grade = 0.75 (Test 1 grade + Test 2 grade)/2 + 0.25 (Report grade)
