Objetivos

Provide students with an active involvement in activities of institutions and development projects with social enterprises and others, to encourage their participation in addition to training within the course. In addition to enriching your CV, your participation in projects will encourage society and the articulation of knowledge between them.
This curricular unit intends to focus its activity on partnership projects with companies, societies, associations that show interest in a real product; or research centers that will develop research projects.
A second focus is to encourage students to seek and improve their knowledge, with training and participation
in events is not the scope of the course.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

Learning presupposes the involvement/participation of students in concrete activities.
This involvement must be approved by the person responsible for the curricular unit, who validates its relevance and its integration in the student's training process.

Modo de trabalho

À distância

Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

There are no prerequisite requirements

Programa

Since students will be involved in different activities within the course, the syllabus will depend on the nature of these activities that will be approved and validated by the person responsible for the curricular unit and which must be part of the course.

Throughout their training path, students will be able to participate in different activities, enriching their training and developing their skills, taking advantage of the set of training and development opportunities available.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

Tutorial follow-up without mandatory attendance

1. This curricular unit (UC) fits into both branches of the Degree in Computer Engineering (Management Informatics and Software Engineering). From now on, the designation “Course” will denote the branch of the Degree in Computer Engineering in which the interested student is enrolled.
2. Each individual portfolio of each student may contain a maximum of 6 items.
3. Each item in the portfolio will be called “activity” from now on, being characterized by a theme, a duration, a type and a person responsible.
4. Each activity:
The. It cannot count, partially or totally, for the evaluation of another CU of the course;
B. It must be accepted, before or after it is held, by the head of the UC;
ç. It is analyzed, in order to be accepted, in terms of its relevance, which depends on the type of activity, its framework and its theme;
d. It can be carried out under the responsibility of a teacher from EST-Setúbal, which takes the form of creation, organization, monitoring or mere endorsement of the activity; alternatively, the student can take responsibility for the activity independently;
and. It will have to be registered, after the accomplishment, in the information system of support to the CU, indicating the time of accomplishment, the person in charge, and the evidence of the accomplishment of the same.
5. The theme of the activities must be related to one or more areas of the course.
6. The duration of the set of activities must amount to 162 hours of individual work carried out by the interested student. In group work, the specific intervention time of the student in question must be identified and presented in the performance record.
7. Without prejudice to analyzing the relevance of all types of activity, the following types of activity are considered particularly relevant:
The. Participation in research, development or service projects, with or without the collaboration of entities external to EST-Setúbal;
B. Participation in seminars or short courses;
ç. Product development;
d. Publication of R&D articles in conferences or scientific journals;
and. Participation in socially relevant initiatives.
8. The classification of each individual activity is subject to the delivery of proof of its validity, which may consist of the approval of a teacher, an external person responsible for the activity or the student himself, in which case the evaluation will have to be carried out by an evaluator appointed for this purpose by the head of the UC.
9. The classification of each activity can be proposed at the time of delivery/registration, but it needs confirmation by the UC faculty, resulting in an official value equal to or different from that proposed, on a scale from 0 to 5, where 0 represents the absence of activity value and 5 represents the recognition of its excellence.
10. The final classification obtained in the UC will be the average, weighted by the respective duration, of the classifications attributed to the individual activities.
11. It is possible to present the portfolio for evaluation without having filled in the entirety of this duration, but the value of the missing hours will be zero, thus counting towards the weighted average.
12. Regardless of the date of performance of the activities registered in the context of the UC, their evaluation is carried out only in the semester in which it takes place, in the course's curricular plan.
13. The interaction of the course students with the faculty of this UC is carried out essentially via Moodle.
14. There are links in UC's Moodle to
The. The presentation of proposals for portfolio activities, as well as association with the activity of a student and/or teacher in charge;
B. The registration of completion/completion of the same, including the delivery of evidence.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

The final classification obtained in the UC will be the average, weighted by the respective duration, of the classifications attributed to the individual activities, each one being classified on the scale 0-5. The final rating will be determined on the 0-20 scale.

Final Grade = (4∑_(k=1)^n▒v_k d_k)/(max⁡{∑▒d_k ,162}), where n is the number of activities, ck the classification of the activity k and dk its duration .
