Objetivos
Nowadays, companies and institutions have computer networks permanently connected to the internet. Ensuring the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and its routing on the network is a continuous task for managers and computer technicians.
This curricular unit addresses various aspects of security that must be addressed in the design, implementation and maintenance of the computer infrastructure.
The aspects of data integrity assurance and encryption are also addressed, as well as the protocols that use these mechanisms, such as SSH and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).

Bibliografia Obrigatória

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
Project Based Learning (PBL) pedagogical method.
There is an internal project of the curricular unit.
In classes are introduced the theoretical/practical concepts about the several topics to configure the project.
The classes are taught using a video-conferencing tool.
The students can apply the acquired knowledge and configure the topics in the project right away, or in case of lack of confidence/knowledge, they can do a more guided lab work, and then, autonomously, configure the topic in the project.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
The final mark will be obtained based on the formula:
𝑁𝑜𝑡𝑎 𝐹𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙 = 67% Test + 20% Presentations+ 33% Quarter Project.
The minimum mark in the Test is 8 (eight) marks.
