Objetivos
Know how to explain the operating principles of health equipment, namely the role of each electronic circuit included in this equipment. Know the requirements in terms of safety that are associated whenever it is intended to develop equipment for the health area. Know the interfaces of medical equipment with external devices. Understand the communication protocols of medical equipment.Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
Theoretical-practical expositions promote the acquisition of updated knowledge on the topics studied. At the same time, autonomous research work is encouraged, with subsequent presentation of results obtained by students (in groups or individually) that motivate reflection, criticism, and help to a greater participation in the learning process. Viewing demonstration videos to learn about the operation of various electronic devices and equipment and will promote critical thinking.Modo de trabalho

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
The main purpose of this curricular unit is to transmit knowledge necessary to understand the functioning of health equipment, namely the role of each electronic circuit included in these equipment. The methodology is based on PowerPoint with voice presentations and demonstrative videos, combined with the realization, presentation and discussion of a research work. The use of the Moodle e-learning platform makes it possible to diversify the assessment methodology. The platform will support the realization of open questions, and class questions with submission and constitutes the repository of all information regarding the curricular unit in question.Palavras Chave

- The score in the theoretical part cannot be less than 9 values. In each mini-test, the score can not be less than 8 values. If, however, a score is less than 8 in one of the minitests, the student can recover the mini-test in the normal season exam. If in two or more mini-tests, the score is less than 8, the student is disapproved in continuous assessment and will have to complete the theoretical part during the exam season;
- The grade obtained in the Theoretical Exam (Ep. Normal/Ep. Resource) cannot be less than 9.5 values.
- Classification in the Research work (TI) cannot be less than ten (10) values.
- It is mandatory to register in moodle to have access to the materials available for the course;
- The performance on exams for the purpose of improvement is subject to registration at the Academic Office according to the current rules.
- The grade improvement focuses solely and exclusively on the theoretical component of the assessment;
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
For students with the possibility of attending the UC on a continuous assessment basis:
NF = 0.3 TI + 0.07 Ex/Q + 0.48 MT + 0.15 FA
Subtitle:
- Research work (TI);
- Mini-tests average (MT);
- Evaluation files (FA);
- Exercises or extra-class questions with submission on the moodle platform (Ex/Q).
Notes:
- Students who have not passed the research work fail the Curricular Unit;
- The use of plagiarism for the elaboration of the research work results in the cancellation of the work.
Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)
For students who were unable to attend the course in the continuous assessment regime (students with TE status), or who failed the Theoretical component, the final grade will be calculated as follows:
NF = 0.7 EXF + 0.3 TI
Notes:
EXF - classification in the final exam;
TI - classification in research work.Melhoria de classificação
The performance on exams for the purpose of improvement is subject to registration at the Academic Office according to the current rules. The grade improvement focuses solely and exclusively on the theoretical component of the assessment.Observações
