Objetivos

Provide students with knowledge about the control and management of electric and hybrid motorization systems.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

The characterization of electric and hybrid vehicles on the market will be studied, as well as new emerging electric mobility solutions. In the laboratory, traction batteries, battery management systems, the study and programming of traction motor drivers, among others, will be tested. Thus, in addition to theoretical skills, practical skills will be developed in the laboratory environment. Apart from the research carried out mainly focus on written documentation in English, the presentation and discussion of the work done, at least one will also be in English.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The teaching methodologies are essentially two, namely associated to the theoretical-practical classes and practical-laboratory. The theoretical-practical classes consist of the exposition of the programmatic contents by the teacher. In this context, it is also planned periods of discussion with the aim of stimulating reasoning, ability to argue and increase interest. With respect to the practical component, students should develop a study and simulation of an electric or hybrid vehicle and its connection to the electrical network, as well as a set of laboratory equipment tests.

The evaluation components will have the mandatory evaluation in the theoretical-practical component and in the practical-laboratory component. One of the works done by the students will be written and presented in English.
