Objetivos
This curricular unit is intended to address issues related to the design and design of components, equipment or installations.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
In this course unit, students are expected to:
- understand the different methodologies and phases of the project, in accordance with applicable legislation and technical standards;
- apply different methodologies for dimensioning and designing components, equipment or installations, integrating knowledge from the various areas of the course;
- analyze problems using critical thinking and autonomy;
- apply value analysis techniques;
- organize a project report;
- present and defend the work carried out.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
In this UC, the autonomous work of students will be privileged. Each group of students (preferably made up of two elements) will be guided by a teacher, with whom they will develop a small project, preferably proposed by a company in the area, or included in a research work to be carried out at the school.
In each academic year, project themes will be made available, evenly distributed by the branches of the course based on proposals from the three basic scientific areas of the course.

The assessment of student performance involves the following components:
i. participation in a seminar, within the scope of Value Analysis;
ii. presentation/dissemination of the project, in a Workshop;
iii. elaboration of the project report;
iv. presentation and final discussion of the project report, in its own session.
