Objetivos
The objective of this course is to provide students with the skills to design the solution, develop and implement an IoT system, considering acquisition/control carried out at the level of sensor nodes, interconnection of nodes through a wired/wireless network and support IoT platform/DB server for recording and processing the data collected, as well as aspects of planning and project management and coordination of teamwork.
Simultaneously, it is intended that this curricular unit works as an integrative unit of knowledge acquired at the level of the various curricular units of the course, thus contributing to giving students an integrated view of the application of acquired knowledge and skills

Students at the end of the course should be able to:
a) Explain the integrated and multidisciplinary approach of IoT solutions, and apply it to everyday environments.
b) Analyze, design and implement an IoT system, considering its components and connectivity issues.
c) Explain the principles of sensing/actuation, data transmission and processing, visualization and analysis, and security issues in the IoT.
d) Recognize and appreciate the collaborative nature of IoT systems development and the teamwork involved.
e) Plan and manage a project.
f) Work as a team.

Obtenção de frequência
The evaluation is carried out through:
- workshop presentation (Av1),
- presentation and comparison of the results obtained in the various stages of project development compared to what was proposed to be carried out in the previous phase (Av2 - 3 evaluation moments)
- Final presentation of the developed system (Av3).
(Av1) - A workshop on a set of tools/platforms to be used in the project to be developed will be awarded, depending on the interest of the various teams. The team should do a practical workshop so that all students can experience the spillage/platform in question.
(Av2) - 3 Sprints are defined (based on the SCRUM) to control the evolution of the project. Each team must negotiate what they will present in the next Sprint and compare the result obtained with what was proposed previously.
(Av3) - The final presentation of the developed system includes a demonstration of the developed system, documentation (article, system manual, poster, video demonstrating how the system works) and an oral presentation integrated in an online workshop.
