Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

Knowledge of the curricular unit "Introduction to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration"

Programa

1. Introduction Classification and typology of HVAC systems. Different types of central and terminal systems. Typical project process.

2. Central equipment Chilled water producing groups (chillers): centralized production units. Selection and operating parameters. Units with partial and total heat recovery. Refrigeration circuit of the mentioned units. Variation of unit efficiency with temperature regime. Compact air conditioning units. Energy recovery systems. Accumulation systems.

3. Air treatment units and terminal equipment Air treatment units (Utas): main modules and their characteristics. Passage speed in the batteries and loss of charge in the units. Direct expansion coverage units (Roof-tops). Heat Recovery and Free-cooling. Split and multisplit type direct expansion units. Terminal units: convectors, fan coils, cooled ceilings and induction units.

4. Topologies of interconnection networks and balance of wind and hydraulic networks Typical interconnection hydraulic networks between terminal units and chillers. Networks with direct and inverse return. Regulation valves. Interconnection with cooling towers and air handling units. The balance of the water flow of the primary circuit with the secondary circuit. Association of chillers in series and in parallel. Typical speeds on air and water networks. Interaction between network, pump and chiller. Some of the possible problems caused by a deficient balance in a network.

5. Water, air and refrigerant systems Fresh air flows in an installation. Outdoor air quality and conditions for indoor air quality. Ventilation rate and air quality method. Sensory evaluation. Single and double duct systems. VAV systems. Systems with fan coils. Two and four tube systems. VRV system. Emerging systems: with cooled ceilings and induction units.

6. System Definition Methods

7. Attribute weighting and function weighting. Brief introduction to Value Analysis.

8. Functions of the Centralized Technical Management Systems.

Obtenção de frequência

Continuous assessment (to be carried out during the term):

- Two tests (50%) - Minimum score for each test 9.0V (with the possibility of recovery); Minimum arithmetic mean: 9.5V

- Resolution of problems (30%) - Required
- Laboratory work (20%)

- If the student does not obtain the minimum grade in one of the tests, he/she can recover on the date of the recovery test.

* Recovery of one or both tests (to be carried out after the academic period on the two dates defined by the Pedagó Council

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

FINAL GRADE = 0.25 NT1 + 0.25 NT2 + 0.3 NP + 0.2NL

NT1 - 1st test grade
NT2 - 2nd test grade
NP - Resolution of problems grade
NL - Laboratory Note
