Objetivos
The internship aims to reinforce the professional nature of the course. It aims to provide the student with the possibility of applying, in a real work context, the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired, through the analysis and proposal to solve concrete problems of the company. It is an appreciation of "know-how", adaptability to new situations, capacity for initiative and interaction with work teams in the company.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the several courses of the study cycle are mobilized and skills of "know how to do" are developed, as well as research capacity, analysis of information, critical sense, ability to learn autonomously, spirit of initiative, ability to work in a team, communication capacity, sense of responsibility and achievement of objectives.

The student may attend the course Internship if he/she has not more than 3 UC with a negative classification, and the student must have approval to the CU that confer the necessary skills for the development of the Internship work.
Programa
The Work Plan to be carried out in the host company/entity comprises:
1. Integration and involvement in the company's activities;
2. Development of work for the diagnostic, analysis and proposal for concrete measures for the resolution of problems in the company. Namely:
- Assess energy and/or air conditioning needs and carry out the assisted sizing of the systems suitable for each space and purpose;
- Select optimized technological solutions and respective equipment, favoring the use of renewable energies;
- Analyze and diagnose existing installations and propose corrective or optimization solutions;
- Execute budgets related to the installation and maintenance of energy and/or air conditioning systems;
- Coordinate/supervise the installation and maintenance of domestic, commercial and industrial energy and/or air conditioning systems;
- Schedule and organize the work to be carried out and lead work teams;
- Manage energy and/or air conditioning installations;
- Plan and control the quality of energy and/or air conditioning installations.
3. Analysis of results and treatment of information developed during internship work;
4. Preparation of the Internship Report and presentation for discussion.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
The student is accompanied by a supervisor designated by the company and a ESTSetúbal/IPS advisor, both responsible for giving tutorial support to the student, necessary for the proper development of the Internship work.
The advisor, supervisor and student jointly define the Internship Plan (in a meeting held before the beginning of the internship), establishing the area and theme of work (according to the activity and needs of the company), the objectives to be achieved and the methodologies to be applied.

In the Internship, the student follows the company's working hours with mandatory attendance, totaling 700 h of internship.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
The final classification is obtained by weighting the following components:
[1]-(Annex09A) Performance during the internship at the company (60%)
[2]-(Annex 10A) Quality of the Report (25%)
[3]-(Annex 10A) Quality in Presentation (5%)
[4]-(Annex 10A) Discussion Performance (10%)
Approval in the UC is obtained with a classification greater than or equal to 9.5 values.
