Objetivos
Develop calibration procedures for measuring instruments. Apply calibration methods, select suitable standards, calculate uncertainty and express the measurement result.

- Understand the role of metrology in quality systems of enterprise.
- Describe methods and standards adopted in metrology laboratories in the development and implementation of calibration procedures and the materialization of physical quantities.
- Describe and perform calibration methods in indirect measurement.
- Describe the operation of optical instruments in measurement.
- Apply metrology techniques based on vision systems.
- Elaborate calibration procedures, quantify errors and calculate measurement uncertainty in calibration.
- Develop and implement virtual systems for the automatized of calibration and uncertainty computing.

- Metrology and quality: certification; considerations on NP ISO / IEC 17025 and ISO 9000.
- International, National and Regional Organizations; units and measurement standards; International Vocabulary of Metrology.
- Traceability, uncertainty and calibration certificate. Technical specifications of Measuring instruments.
- Implementation of calibration procedures for measuring instruments.
- Photometry techniques: light, luminance, brightness and contrast; optical instruments in calibration; triangulation.
- Metrology based on systems of vision: acquisition and perception of image, sensors used; transformation of images; segmentation of images. Visual inspection and pattern recognition. Applications.
- Automation of measurement in calibration and its calculation of uncertainty using virtual instrumentation techniques.
