Objetivos
Knowing and knowing how to use the technologies available for the realization of automations such as: programmable automata, pneumatic, electropneumatic and electrical technologies.
Know how to model the process under analysis and from this build the control algorithms and build a program for the PLC ( Programmable Logic Controllers).
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
At the end of the course, students should be able to design and perform sequential automatisms. They must also be able to systematize the reasoning on this type of automatism and conveniently describe its structure and operation.
They must know and know how to use sequential systems design methodologies, namely be able to describe the operation of automatisms using GRAFCET and status tables of the type used in the HUFFMAN method.
They should know and know how to use the technologies available for the realization of sequential automations such as electro-pneumatic systems, electromagnetic relays and Programmable Logic Controllers.

Introduction to automatisms. Automatisms at the service of production. Structure of automatic systems.
Ways to describe the behavior of automatisms. Control technologies and actuation technologies. Boolean algebra. Representation and simplification of Boolean functions. Implementation of logic functions.
Pneumatic and electrical technologies in automatisms.
Classical Methods of Synthesis of Command Systems.
Modeling discrete-GRAFCET command systems and Programmable Logic Controllers.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
Theoretical classes: presentation of the subject with demonstrations and examples.
Practical classes: carrying out work with assembly of pneumatic, electropneumatic and PLC automation and control systems. Some classes will consist of solving exercises on the subjects taught in theoretical classes and that will serve as a project for laboratory work.

2 tests and attendance of at least 75% of laboratory classes.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
The final grade (NF) is calculated considering a weight of 70% for the theoretical assessment grade (NT) and 30% for the laboratory assessment grade (NL). NF = 0.7*NT + 0.3NL; It is mandatory that each of these components have a score greater than or equal to 9.5 values.
