Objetivos

With this course is intended that the students learn how to interpret, explain and design standard electric circuits, as well as, have basic knowledge of a computer-aided design program for computer implementation of the schemes of
such circuits. Design process automation systems, using relays and power contactors, as well as using programmable logic controllers for control systems.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Know what are the main types of electrical diagrams;
- Characterize electrical installations and command and protection equipment and motive power schemes;
- Read, interpret and modify electrical diagrams;
- Use the electrical circuit simulation tool;
- Use the computer-assisted design program for computer implementation of said schemes;

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The pedagogical methodology to be used in this course is based on the expository method, with the resolution of exercises, simulation works and implementation of electrical diagrams in a computer-assisted drawing program. The ESTSetúbal/IPS Information System and the Moodle platform will be used to support teaching, namely as a repository of information, work delivery and possibly in carrying out self-assessment and assessment tests.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Theoretical_pratical assessment (N_TP) weighting 70% of the final grade

The assessment of the theoretical_practical component of the course can be obtained by an exam according to the academic rules  (Avaliação do Aproveitamento dos Estudantes da ESTSetúbal/IPS).

The theoretical_pratical evaluation can be done throughout two intermediate tests. To perform any of the two intermediate tests, the student must attend at least 75% of the classes T/P up to class before the test’s day. It is mandatory to register for attending the tests (deadlines for registration and additional information available in the course rules).

Final exam assessment, which grade must be ≥ 9,5 out of 20

N_TP=N_E

N_TP – theoretical_pratical grade

N_E – exam grade

Tests assessment (two intermediate tests):

N_TP=(N_T1+N_T2)/2

N_T1 - 1st test grade ≥ 8 out of 20

N_T2 – 2nd test grade ≥ 8 out of 20

The average grade of the tests N_T1 and N_T2 must be ≥ 9,5 out of 20.

Laboratorial assessment (N_L) weighting 30% of the final grade

Final grade to get approval in this course ≥ 10 out of 20.

More information about this course can be found in the “moodle”.

Provas e trabalhos especiais

The special exam for students that are finalizing the degree, students that work and students of unions, requires enrollement in the academic office according to the academic rules. The special exam is only valid for the theoretical part of the course. Students that want to perform the pratical part of the course must contact the course responsible two weeks up to the beginning of the semester.

Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)

Students that qwork, high performance athletes, students belonging to unions and students fulfilling the national law about religious issues must contact the course responsible by email up to 16/3/2023 or up 15 calendar days after having the respective status confirmed by the academic office.

Melhoria de classificação

To improve the grade by exam requires enrollement in the academic office according to the academic rules. This exam is only valid for the theoretical part of the course.
