Objetivos

Learning objectives (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by students):

It is intended that students, making use of the knowledge acquired in other UC, develop useful skills in the field of electrical drive design, namely to understand, analyze and specify/dimension electrical drive systems, involving current solutions in the industrial field. It is also intended that students be in possession of instruments (basic knowledge and bibliographic guidelines) that will enable the eventual continuation and deepening of studies. In the structuring of the CU, special attention will be given to the dimensioning of the drive, encouraging the use of numerical simulation programs and laboratory practice with industrial drive systems. As transversal skills, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and the power of analysis and synthesis will be encouraged.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

Teaching methodologies (including evaluation):

In the classes of this UC, we will try to encourage the student's active participation in their learning process, making use of their critical spirit and capacity for initiative.

Generic and introductory guidelines will be given in each of the chapters, after which teamwork is promoted in the development of projects, resorting, whenever necessary, to laboratory testing, numerical simulation and research as aids in the learning process .

The works will be developed, preferably, in groups of two students, always having an oral presentation and respective discussion, before the class, of all the works carried out.
