The main objective is that at the end of the UC the student can understand the importance of a structured development method through the presentation of case studies.

In this curricular unit the main learning outcomes are to recognize and understand the different stages of the development of a medical device. From planning to maintenance of medical devices and health equipment, the student must know the various stages involved in the development process of biomedical products.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

Expository teaching encouraging student participation in the discussion of topics covered in the various seminars. The seminars will take place over two days concentrated in the semester, and may take the form of a workshop to encourage student participation. Seminars can be taught in person or at a distance using remote collaboration tools.

The assessment consists of the preparation of an individual report orally presented  (100%), which includes additional research carried out by the student on the various topics addressed or a particular topic that the student chooses to deepen.
