Objetivos
- To know the process of evaluation / writing of a dissertation / master's project;
- To provide students with knowledge of methods and techniques related to scientific research;
- To acquire skills in the analysis, summary and ability to interpret information from bibliographic references;
- To know the principles to register a patent / utility model;
- To Know and apply some presentation techniques.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
At the end of the unit, the student must:
- know how is the evaluation/writing process of a master's dissertation/project;
- know the methods and techniques associated to scientific research;
- have the ability to analyze, summarize and interpret information from bibliographic references;
- to know how is the process of publishing a scientific article and the main quality indicators;
- know the principles for registering a patent/utility model;
- know how to apply some presentation techniques.

This UC consists of some lectures that will also serve to launch topics on which students should conduct research independently. The evaluation comprises the elaboration of a bibliographic review, with analysis of several references and the presentation by the students of their works.

Completion of a report with a bibliographic research and presentation of the work.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
Final grade = 65% written work + 35% final presentation.
