Objetivos

It is intended with this course unit that the student has knowledge of standards, regulations and techniques for carrying out projects of low voltage electrical installations and the ability to dimension and implement small-scale electrical installations for industrial applications.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

Thus, the student should be able to demonstrate:
1 - Understand the regulations and standards applicable to industrial electrical installation projects.
2 - Know the electrical equipment, switchgear, electrical cables and installation methods.
3 - Understand the electrical circuits for lighting, sockets, driving force, switchboards and load balance.
4 - Apply the symbology and standardization of typical lighting circuits, sockets and motive power.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The methodology more focused on the application of active learning activities aimed at greater involvement of students in the construction of knowledge on the proposed themes. Students learn to work with resources in the process of problem solving and reflection during learning and self-assessment activities.

Continuous assessment requires attendance of 75% of classes, formative assessments and summative assessments.
- Theoretical-practical component is mandatory and consists of 3 summative mini-tests.
- Laboratory component is mandatory and consists of 3 laboratory assignments.
The final grade of the course in continuous assessment mode will be calculated as follows:
- Theoretical-practice grade (NTp): Weighted average of the mini-tests (without rounding), with a weight of 60% in the final grade.
- Laboratory grade (NL): calculated based on the completion of the work with a weight of 40% in the final grade.
On the exam date, the student undergoing continuous assessment will be able to recover a mini-test to pass the UC.

Assessment by exam
Students who have not passed the Continuous Assessment will be able to take the theoretical-practical component exam (content of TP classes) as long as they have obtained classification in the laboratory component. Students who have not passed any UC component can take a Global Exam containing both components (theoretical-practical + laboratory). The final grade will be the Global Exam grade.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

The classification of this curricular unit can be obtained through two assessment processes:
- The final grade of the course in continuous assessment mode will be calculated as follows: NF = NTp x 0.6 + NL x 0.4

- The final classification by exam will be; NF = Exam Grade x 0.6 + Laboratory Grade x 0.4

If the classification is higher than 17 values, the student must present himself to an Oral Test, obtaining as a final grade the average of the classifications of the global exam and of the referred Oral Test. If the student does not attend the Oral Test, the final classification will be 16 values.

Observações

In order to be covered by the Continuous Assessment regime, students are required to attend face-to-face attendance of 75% of theoretical-practical classes and 75% of laboratory classes.

Students covered by special statutes(student worker, high competition athletes, etc.) should inform the head of the UC about their situation and their implications for assessments or attendance until the second week of classes, otherwise they cannot be carried out due to lack of objective conditions.

The contents and pedagogical materials to support the study can be found on the UC page on moodle.
