Objetivos

The internship aims to reinforce the professional nature of the course. It aims to provide the student with the possibility of applying, in a real work context, the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired, through the analysis and proposal to solve concrete problems of the company. It is an appreciation of "know-how", adaptability to new situations, capacity for initiative and interaction with work teams in the company.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the several CU of the study cycle are mobilized and skills of "know how to do" are developed, as well as research capacity, analysis of information, critical sense, ability to learn autonomously, spirit of initiative, ability to work in a team, communication capacity, sense of responsibility and achievement of objectives.

Presencial

Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

The student may attend the CU Internship if he/she has not more than 3 UC with a negative classification, and the student must have approval to the CU that confer the necessary skills for the development of the Internship work.

Programa

The Work Plan to be carried out in the host company/entity comprises:

1. Integration and involvement in the company's activities;

2. Development of work for the diagnostic, analysis and proposal for concrete measures for theresolution of problems in the company.


The work is developed in one or more areas of the course:

-in the area of Environmental Quality:

Environmental Analysis

Environmental Microbiology

Environmental Technologies

Environmental Management

Noise Analysis

Quality, Environment and Safety Management Systems

-in the area of Food Quality:

Food Analysis

Food Microbiology

Food Security

Food Processing and Conservation Technologies.


3. Analysis of results and treatment of information developed during internship work;

4. Preparation of the Internship Report and presentation for discussion.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The student is accompanied by a supervisor designated by the company and a ESTSetúbal/IPS advisor, both responsible for giving tutorial support to the student, necessary for the proper development of the Internship work.
The advisor, supervisor and student jointly define the Internship Plan (in a meeting held before the beginning of the internship), establishing the area and theme of work (according to the activity and needs of the company), the objectives to be achieved and the methodologies to be applied.

In the Internship, the student follows the company's working hours with mandatory attendance, totaling 700 h of internship.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

The final classification is obtained by weighting:
-Performance in the company (50 %)
-Internship Report (40 %)
-Presentation and discussion (10 %)

Approval in the CU is achieved with a classification higher than or equal to 9.5 values.

NF=0.5 Company performance + 0.4 Internship Report + 0.1 Presentation and Discussion

Trabalho de estágio/projeto

At the end of the Internship, the student presents and discusses the Internship Report, describing the activity developed, results and conclusions.
