Objetivos

Knowing how to use the technologies available  to carry out automatisms such as: programmable controlers,  pneumatic, electropneumatic and electrical technologies. Know how to model the process under analysis and from  this build the control algorithms and build a program for the PLC.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

At the end of the course students should be able to project and perform sequential automatisms. Should also be able to systematize the reasoning about this kind of automatism and conveniently describe its structure and functioning.
They must know and know how to use sequential systems design methodologies, namely be able to describe the operation of automation systems by means of GRAFCET and state tables such as those used in the HUFFMAN method.

They should know and know how to use the technologies available to carry out sequential automatisms such as eletro pneumatic systems, electromagnetic relays and programmable logic controller (PLC), .

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

Theoretical lecture: presentation of curriculum with demos and examples.

Practical classes: carrying out work with assembly of pneumatic, electropneumatic and PLC automation and control systems. Some classes will consist of solving exercises on the subjects taught in theoretical classes and which will serve as a project for laboratory work.

Tipo de avaliação

Componentes de Avaliação

Designation Peso (%)
Teste 70,00
Trabalho laboratorial 30,00
Total: 100,00

Componentes de Ocupação

Designation Tempo (Horas)
Estudo autónomo 87,00
Frequência das aulas 45,00
Trabalho escrito 0,00
Trabalho laboratorial 30,00
Total: 162,00

Obtenção de frequência

Carrying out 2 tests and attending at least 75% laboratory classes.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

The final grade (NF) is calculated considering a weight of 70% for the theoretical assessment grade (NT) and 30% for the laboratory assessment grade (NL).
NF = 0.7*NT + 0.3NL; It is mandatory that each of these components has a grade greater than or equal to 9.5.The NT grade is obtained by completing two tests with a weight of 35% for each of them.If you do not obtain an average in the tests equal to or greater than 9.5, the final assessment will be based on the score of a written test, which has a weight of 70% and the remaining 30% is obtained through laboratory assessment.
