Objetivos

This curricular unit prepares students to integrate knowledge of residential electrical installations with knowledge of home automation electrical installations, applying safety standards, regulations and techniques for the respective installations.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

1. Know the main characteristics and selection of low voltage equipment and apparatus.
2. Interpret and reproduce electrical diagrams of a small electrical installation in a residential building.
3. Apply the technical rules and regulations and safety standards in force.
4. Dimension equipment and electrical installations for integrating home automation systems.

Modo de trabalho

Presencial

Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

It is recommended that students be aware of the knowledge taught in the Electrical Engineering, Equipment and Electrical Schematics courses, as well as mastering the use of electrical circuit design programs on computers, namely Autocad and Cade_Simu.

Programa

1 - Approved regulations and standards. Type and category of installations. Requirements of electrical projects.

2 - Power balance: evaluation criteria; estimation of the installed and contracted powers.

3 - Structure of the low voltage supply networks; electrical boards and column boards. Structure and design of electrical boards.

4 - Protection and command systems for electrical boards.

5 - Cabling: types and installation modes; designing criteria. Supply columns.

6 - Design of lighting circuits: normal, emergency and safety. Supply circuits for electrical motors. Lighting concepts and calculations.

7 – Equipment for the implementation of a domestic automation system.

8 – Installation of automation systems.

9 – Wiring for power supply and communication of equipment associated with the home automation systems

Obtenção de frequência

Delivery and discussion of the final report and ongoing evaluation.

Continuous assessment (AC) - During the semester, mini-tests or oral assessments will be made during the class.

Mandatory attendance of at least 75% of class hours (T/P+PL).

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

1. Under continuous assessment, the final grade (NF) is obtained by: NF = 0.30 MT + 0.55 TR+ 0.15 RL

2. Under an exam regime with mandatory work. the final grade is the weighted half of the exam grade (NE) and the written work (TR). NF=0.65 NE + 0.35 TR

The final classification of the two assessment systems is rounded to the nearest units and must be ≥ 9.5 values to obtain approval for the curricular unit.
In any of the individual assessments (mini-tests or exams) the use of electronic means of communication is not permitted.

Observações

Working Students, Highly Competitive Athletes, Association Directors and Students under the Religious Freedom Law must contact the person responsible for the UC, within 15 calendar days from the 1st day of classes or 15 calendar days from the date of registration , to present their relevant specificities in writing, in accordance with the terms set out in the respective legal documents.
