Fundamentals of Mathematics I

TLQBVF01 - ECTS

To acquire analytical, graphical and implementation skills for specific situations of trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions;  to acquire notions of analytical geometry and matrix calculation.

Fundamentals of Chemistry

TLQBVF03 - ECTS

It is intended that the student acquires fundamental knowledge of Chemistry to understand the structure of matter and its transformations. It is also intended to understand the chemical origin of phenomena of relevance in different chemical processes, such as acid-base reactions and electrochemistry.

Health and Safety in the Laboratories

TLQBVF05 - ECTS The student must be able to:
Identify the risks existing in the laboratory and know the general safety procedures;
To know the organization of safety, hygiene and health at work in the laboratory;
Recognize work accidents and occupational diseases;
Know and interpret some legislation applicable to hygiene and safety at work in the laboratory;
Identify and use personal and collective protective equipment and their specific applications

Informatics

TLQBVF02 - ECTS It is intended in this course that the student acquires the skills of manipulating a word processor and a spreadsheet. It is also intended to acquire bases on the abstract concepts of programming and introduction to programming techniques, which allows it to adapt to new programming languages.

Introduction to Chemical Laboratory

TLQBVF06 - ECTS -

Microbiology and Microbial Analysis

TLQBVF04 - ECTS At the end of the course, students are expected to understand and know the theoretical foundations: microorganisms and their diversity; the kinetics and energy of bacterial growth and cell death; the effect of environmental factors and anti-microbial agents in the control of microbial growth; the basic mechanisms underlying the adaptability and proliferation of microorganisms in different habitats. It should also learn theoretical and practical knowledge about the different types of microbial analysis, applicable standards depending on the type of sample and/or analysis. The student must also be able to apply, in the laboratory context, the knowledge
previous ones, knowing how to work safely and following the rules of asepsis, knowing how to prepare the culture media appropriate to each type of microorganism, to know methods of sterilization, disinfection and decontamination, to carry out microscopic examinations, perform sample collection and preparation, master sample dilution techniques and
innoculation, know microbial identification methods in food, water and air.

Accreditation and Certification

TLQBVF09 - ECTS The student at the end of this training must: understand the need and importance of an accreditation and certification system for the

confidence in the various technical activities it has to perform; distinguish certification accreditation and know the various bodies of the
same; know np 9001 and NP 170025

At the end of this curricular unit the student will have in-depth knowledge of the contents of national and European standards, their application and implementation

Analysis and Statistical Data Processing

TLQBVF08 - ECTS

The main objective is to provide a set of basic knowledge that will enable the student to perform a descriptive analysis on a set of data.

The student should be able to apply appropriate descriptive measures to the data being studied, understand how to sample correctly, and identify the constraints and limits of representativeness of a sample.

Fundamentals of Mathematics II

TLQBVF07 - ECTS

To acquire calculation techniques widely used in other curricular units, among which the matrix language, the representation of systems of linear equations and their resolution, calculation of determinants and their applications.

Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry

TLQBVF12 - ECTS It is intended in this CU that students know the formulas, structures, nomenclature and physicochemical/reactivity properties of the main families of organic compounds; recognize the importance, in a given molecule, of the role of functional groups and how the distribution of electrons can intervene in organic reactions. The student should also be able to: predict the mechanism and classify the reactions of organic compounds and acquire the concept of spacial geometry of molecules associated with the study of stereochemistry.

Methods of Water Analysis

TLQBVF10 - 6 ECTS This curricular unit aims to make students aware of different methods and techniques of water analysis, their procedures and importance, as well as the procedures necessary to validate the methods.
By the end ofthe semester the student must be able to plan and manage the execution of routine chemical tests, specialized for water analysis. Thus, it is intended that Thus it is also intended that the student can: - Perform the necessary calculations for the preparation of solutions; - Know the instrumentation of the various analytical methods; - Calibrate the analysis equipment; - Understand the concept of quality control; - Understand the concept of validation of the analysis method; - Interpret the experimental results based on the legislation in force.

Applied Chemistry

TLQBVF11 - ECTS

It is intended that the student acquires advanced theoretical knowledge of chemistry, which support the preparation of specialized technical reports with clear, concise, and complete information. This curricular unit also aims to allow the future professional superior technician in Chemical and Biological Laboratory to perform the experimental work with awareness of the scientific bases that underlie it. Thus, the curricular unit is divided into 3 complementary training areas that allow deepening knowledge in chemistry, both at the general level, both in the theory of chemical connection and at the level of the main chemical balances.

Biochemistry and Biochemical Analysis

TLQBVF15 - ECTS

Physics

TLQBVF14 - ECTS

Instrumental Methods of Analysis C
