Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
The theoretical component will be presented in expository mode using Powerpoint slides. In theoretical-practical classes, more practical aspects of the syllabus will be worked through by solving exercises. The integration of concepts will also be carried out through the elaboration of a small genetic engineering project (designing a cloning strategy with a specific objective).

Obtenção de frequência
Attendance to 80% of classes is required (20% of unjustified absences) in the sum of the 2 types of classes, for access to the continuous assessment regime.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
Continuous assessment:
FC = 90 % (average of 2 tests) + 10% (small project)
Exam(s):
FC = 100 % Exam OR 90% Exam + 10% (small project) – the best of the 2 options.
Provas e trabalhos especiais
The cloning project will be partially elaborated in class, as a way of contextualizing theoretical concepts and their application to solve a given problem. The evolution of the project will be monitored throughout the semester, establishing intermediate "deadlines" to complete specific stages. The scheduling of the stages to be developed in the project assumes that it is completed three weeks before the end of the semester, but will have an extended deadline for delivery until the end of the academic period.
Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)
There is no provision for any special assessment regime, not included in those already provided for in the Regulation.
However, students who either with special statutes or in the pandemic context do not attend the project monitoring classes, these will be recorded and made available in moodle and tutoring time will be used to assist in its implementation.
