Objetivos
1. Identify the facilities and equipment of construction sites and apply techniques for their planning and organization
2. Recognize the importance of site safety measures
3. Identify national legislation related to site safety
4. Interpret the Health and Safety Plan for the construction phase
5. Understand and apply construction project planning techniques - GANTT, CPM and PERT diagrams
6. Apply computer-aided planning techniques to time, cost and resource planning
7. Identify and characterize the levels of responsibility of the different parties involved in preparation and execution of site works.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
At the end of the semester, the student should have acquired:
A - Knowledge of: legal framework applicable to the construction sector; planning and control techniques for works and organization of construction, rehabilitation and maintenance sites; safety, hygiene and health in construction work; use of IT equipment and tools to support construction management.
B - Skills to: prepare and organize work meetings using communication techniques adjusted to the specifics of the matters on the agenda; identify types of works and practical application of legislation and regulations in the construction sector; organize site plans according to the sequence of tasks and the work plan; identify the causes of accidents at work and implement good site safety, hygiene and health practices, carrying out awareness-raising actions appropriate to the requirements of the health and safety plan; perform planning and resource management techniques using specific IT tools.

Programa
1. Construction sites. Site organization and planning: legislation and standards applicable to construction sites; production facilities and equipment - conditions; organization and implementation of the site plan.
2. Construction safety. Workplace safety: legislation and Community Directives; accidents. Risk analysis and risk assessment methods. Management and control measures in construction works: preventive measures; individual and collective protection equipment; signs. Safety coordination: responsibilities; Health and Safety Plan; Site Plan.
3. Planning and scheduling. Planning and scheduling objectives. Planning techniques: GANTT diagrams; network analysis-Critical Paths Method (CPM); Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT). Planning and resources associated with the execution of works. Computer-assisted planning.
4. Technical control of the execution of works: technical responsibility for the work; organization of work teams; accountability and division of tasks.
