Objetivos

At the end of this CU, the student must:
- Plan and carry out advanced laboratory techniques.
- Understand and use quality control in the results of analytical measurements.
- Know the instrumentation, the physical-chemical principle of each analytical method, and its advantages and disadvantages.
- Apply calibration methods.
- Interpret the results of analytical chemistry and acquire critical skills and integration of knowledge in laboratory work.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

In the theoretical classes, the expository technique is used, stimulating the students' reasoning and critical spirit.

In practical or laboratory classes, students solve exercises and perform laboratory work independently under the supervision of the professor.

The assessment consists of 50% for the theoretical component (tests or exam) and 50% for the practical component (classroom context including laboratory notebook, and reports).

Tipo de avaliação

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Componentes de Avaliação

Designation Peso (%)
Teste 50,00
Trabalho laboratorial 50,00
Total: 100,00

Componentes de Ocupação

Designation Tempo (Horas)
Estudo autónomo 115,50
Frequência das aulas 73,50
Total: 189,00

Obtenção de frequência

Mandatory attendance, as a condition of access to continuous assessment, refers exclusively to laboratory classes, that is, the student must perform all the experimental work proposed in the laboratory, which implies that if a student misses a laboratory class, he/she will have to do the missing work in a recovery class at the end of the semester.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Continuous Evaluation:

FM=25% Test 1 + 25% Test 2 + 25% Classroom Context (including Laboratory Notebook) + 25% Reports.

Minimum grade of 9.5 points in the weighted average of the tests.

Exam Evaluation (all seasons):

FM=50% Exam + 25% Classroom Context (including Laboratory Notebook) + 25% Reports.

Minimum exam grade is 9.5 points.

All the evaluation components are compulsory.

In terms of individual assessment of group work, it is indicated that:

- The student who signs the work and does not appear in its oral discussion, can be assigned a null classification in the discussion (weight of 20% in the final classification of the work).

- Students from the same group may be given a different classification during the discussion, based on the mastery of the content of the work carried out.

CU under an exception regime:

100% exam evaluation not applicable.
