Paulo Correia has been involved in the chemical technology area since 1994 and in the polymers field since 1999 in the scope of his PhD in IST. His areas of expertise involve chemical engineering and polymer science and technology. From his R&D work one patent and several papers in scientific journals, as well as communications in international conferences resulted.

After his PhD, he collaborated as Formaldehyde and Amino Resins Plant Manager in a particleboard company (2000-2003) and as a post-doc researcher in the Centre of Chemical Processes of the (former) Technical University of Lisbon (2003-2006), where he did some consultancy work for the chemical industry.

Since he joined FISIPE in 2006 as Development Engineer, he has been involved in acrylonitrile copolymers synthesis, acrylic and precursor fibers spinning and their conversion into oxidized and carbon fibers, as well as in the development of analytical characterization methods.

In parallel with his R&D activities, he was FISIPE Lab Manager in the 2014-2018 period.

FISIPE, S.A. was rebranded SGL Composites, S.A. at the end of 2018.

He collaborates with ESTBarreiro/IPS since 2017 in the scope of the MSc in Biological and Chemical Engineering. He is responsible (RUC) for Polymer Technology, Industrial Control and Chemical Project subjects.
