Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

Teaching methodologies used:
(M1) Expository Method.
(M2) Interrogative Method through case studies and/or answering questionnaires related to them or to the concepts exposed in class, national and international documents in the subjects under analysis, which may include comments on films or documentaries.
(M3) Active Method to promote discovery learning, through individual and group exploration; application of concepts and resolution of practical cases, supported by the resolution of exercises that allow the implementation of fundamental concepts.

Assessment Methodologies

Continuous assessment
Continuous assessment comprises the realization of autonomous activities in the classroom (AA), the elaboration, presentation, and discussion of group work (GW), and an individual final test (FT).
Final assessment

The final assessment comprises the completion of an Individual Work (W) and the completion of an individual exam (EX).

Tipo de avaliação

Distributed evaluation without final exam

Componentes de Avaliação

Designation Peso (%)
Participação presencial 20,00
Teste 40,00
Trabalho escrito 40,00
Total: 100,00

Componentes de Ocupação

Designation Tempo (Horas)
Estudo autónomo 70,00
Frequência das aulas 45,00
Trabalho escrito 20,00
Total: 135,00

Obtenção de frequência

Continuous Evaluation (attendance as access condition): 50%

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Type of Assessment:

  • Autonomous Work (i.e. Regular Exercises in class context- AA)
  • Group Work (GW)
  • Individual Work (IW)
  • Final Test (FT)
  • Exam (EX)

Continuous Assessment: 20% (AA) + 40% (GW) + 40% (FT)
Minimum mark of Final Test (FT): 8 out of 20

Final Assessment: 50% (IW) + 50% (EX)
Minimum mark of Exam (EX): 8 out of 20

UC under an exception regime - 100% assessment by exam not applicable

Melhoria de classificação

In the case of grade improvement in Final Evaluation, the Group Work (GW) score obtained in Continuous Evaluation will be considered. Optionally, the student may choose to perform an Individual Work (IW).
