Objetivos
It is intended that the student acquires fundamental knowledge of Chemistry in order to understand the structure of matter and its transformations.
It is also intended that you understand the importance of basic laboratory techniques, as well as the determination of concentrations and simple stoichiometric calculations.

Chapter 1: Atomic Structure
Atomic number, mass number, isotopes, quantum numbers, orbital filling rules, TP organization, atomic radius, ionic radius, ionization energy, electronegativity, electron affinity.
Chapter 2: Chemical BondingIonic bonding, covalent bonding (single, covalent-dative, double, triple), Lewis notation, octet rule, exceptions to the octet rule (expanded octet, incomplete octet, and odd number of valence electrons), resonance hybrids, binding energy, bond length, geometry of molecules, polarity (prediction of bond character), nomenclature of inorganic chemical compounds, coordination compounds.
Chapter 3: Intermolecular ForcesDefinition of intermolecular forces, different types of intermolecular forces, relationship between molecular forces and various physicochemical properties.
Chapter 4: Calculation of concentrationsQuantities and dimensional analysis, Mass and molar concentration, Molality, Normality, mole fraction and mass fraction, percentage (m/m, m/V and V/V), parts per million, volumetric mass, dilutions (dilution factor).
Chapter 5: Stoichiometric CalculationsCorrect chemical equations, limiting reactant, excess reactant, yield.
Laboratory classesPart 1: Basic laboratory techniques; Part 2: Determination of sample concentration.
