Elements of Mathtematics I

The general objective of this course unit is to provide students with the basic mathematical knowledge required in the professional training of a top professional technician.
Electrotechnics
SEC04 - ECTS
The course unit of Electrotechnics is a sciences engineering field base. The learning of the methods and physical concepts underlying it, aims to develop in students fundamental skills that allow them to understand the electromagnetic phenomena and master the main techniques of electrical circuits analysis in direct and alternating current.
The objective is to develop students’ knowledge of English in several areas, such as reading comprehension, writing, correct use of technical terms, grammar, fluency and personal interaction. Students will be acquainted with concepts and procedures used in the workplace, and will be able to apply technical language to specific contexts.
Develop and improve logical and formal reasoning skills that allow you to analyze complex problems;
Present the conceptual foundations and develop skills related to computer programming:
Understanding the general principles of software engineering;
Understanding and valuing the central role of the Algorithm;
Learn the fundamentals of digital systems, number bases and base conversions;

Introduction to Telecommunications

This Curricular Unit contributes to the understanding of telecommunications systems, including theknowledge of the theory associated with electric and magnetic fields, the design, implementation andmaintenance of communication systems involving different means of transmission and explanation of theoperating principles of circuits present in telecommunications systems. It also allows the development of skills in terms of signal processing and interpretation of uncertaintiesinherent to the measurement processes of physical quantities.
Provide students with the basic mathematical knowledge required in the professional training of a professional higher technician.
Analog Electronics

Describe the characteristics of semiconductors. Distinguish P-type and N-type semiconductors. Characterize the PN junction. Carry out assemblies with diodes and carry out the analysis of the circuits. To characterize the different types of circuits used in the rectification. Describe Zener diodes in terms of their constitution, characteristics and applications. Recognize the constitution, types and symbology of the bipolar transistor. To characterize the functioning of the bipolar transistor. Identify the fundamental assemblies: EC, BC, CC. Analyze the characteristic curves of the transistor in EC. Microcontrollers

This course unit aims to provide students with the knowledge to carry out small projects on a microcontroller platform.
Object-oriented Programming
SEC08 - ECTS
Teaching and practice of object-oriented programming concepts based on the JAVA language. Give theoretical sequence to the course of Introduction to Programming developing a new programming paradigm.
Computer Networks
SEC05 - ECTS
The fundamental objective of the Computer Networks Curricular Unit is to provide students with basic knowledge in the area of Computer Networks.
Students will develop skills in carrying out structured network design, installation and maintenance of Local Computer Networks.
Signal Acquisition and Processing
SEC15 - ECTS
Theoretical, practical and laboratory study of the analog circuits used in the signal acquisition and processing chain. Sensors, Amplifiers, Filters, Analog-Digital and Digital-Analog Converters.
Students should develop skills in the field of business management, organizational behaviour, leadership, and team management.
Eletronic Systems Project
SEC17 - ECTS
This UC aims to provide students with knowledge for the design of complex electronic circuits. It is also intended to give students the knowledge for the design and realization of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
SEC16 - ECTS
Introduce the student to the design and development of embedded systems (standalone or in network), particularly those of real-time, with emphasis on those based upon multi-core microprocessors. Understand the concepts involved in concurrent and parallel programming. Use the Linux operating system in personal computers and single board computers, in C/C++.
