Objetivos

The aim is to develop several competences:
- Promote techniques and strategies which allow the student to come to an effective organisation of studying and time;
- Develop to work autonomously and as a member of a team;
- Acquire research methods and techniques, register and handling of information;
> At the level of cognitive competences, the student should:
   - Develop competences which allow him/her to manage studying successfully
> At the level of communicative competences (mother tongue) the student should:
   - Use communication and presentation techniques effectively, resorting to visual aid (PowerPoint).
At the level of Electrical Engineering knowledge aims to develop the following skills:
-Knowledge of the various functions of the Electrical Engineer
-Knowledge of the first electrical concepts
-Using some equipment for measuring and recording electrical quantities

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

- Identify the various functions of the Electrical Engineer and framing with the specific characteristics of the various profiles.
- Know the main professional orders and their role in society;
- Know the real work context through seminars and/or study visits to
industries/companies in the region;
-Develop the ability to work independently and as a member of a group
- Develop the ability to use some equipment for measuring and recording electrical quantities
- Develop skills in time management, teamwork, project work and communication (written and oral). In writing skills, emphasis is given to the rules for writing technical reports, bibliographic referencing and plagiarism control.

- Presentations: preparation, visual aid, PowerPoint, communication techniques (posture, body language, placement of voice, voice and image interconnection).

The methodologies employed in the part designated as Study Methods include exposition and discussion of the syllabus, and practical activities, with a view to self-knowledge by the students.

The methodologies used in the part designated as Communication comprise content exposure, analysis of examples and preparation of individual and group work.

There are two to three lectures given by prominent professionals in the area

Realization of several laboratories where skills will be acquired in terms of the various electrical equipment for measuring and acquiring electrical quantities
