Objetivos
To present some of the main Advanced Production Technologies, especially computer-assisted and applied to the areas of discrete production in the mechanical industry, taking into account their use in integrated production systems.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
Within the scope of this curricular unit, students will develop the following skills:
• Know and know how to use manual measuring equipment, as well as the instruments used to verify it;
• Know and know how to use coordinate measuring equipment, both from the point of view of operation, as well as its programming;
• Know how to create simulations that predict the behavior of parts in service, through commercial software, as well as methodologies that help in optimizing the geometry of these parts;
• Know the characteristics of numerical control, in terms of its application in machine tools;
• Know how to develop elementary numerical control programs, using languages based on the ISO standard, as well as through the language of Heidenhain controllers;
• Know the principles and know how to program CADCAM software for the operation of computerized numerical control machine tools;
• Know the operating principles and know how to operate and program robots;
• Knowing how to identify and understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different welding and thermal cutting processes;
• Know the bases of qualification and certification of processes and welders, within the scope of the management of special processes;
• Know the main processes used in non-destructive testing.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
Classes will be taught in the classroom, and the respective presentation will be made available prior to the class.
After the theoretical exposition of the subject, it is illustrated through examples of application and resolution of exercises.
The weekly planning, as well as all teaching materials are available on the Moodle e-learning platform page.

In the two components of the evaluation (project and laboratory work), the minimum grade must be equal to or greater than 10 values.
The project work aims to involve students in all stages, from the optimization of a part, to its industrialization, as well as in the use of the means that allow its quality control. This work involves the manufacture of a part and is performed autonomously by the students.
The laboratory work corresponds to the practical execution of operations that allow to illustrate the concepts that are presented in the classroom.
Design work is powered with 40% and laboratory work with 60%.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
Final Classification=Project work (40%) + Laboratory work (60%)
