Objetivos
With this course is intended that the students learn how to interpret, explain and design standard electric circuits, as well as, have basic knowledge of a computer-aided design program for computer implementation of the schemes of
such circuits. Design process automation systems, using relays and power contactors, as well as using programmable logic controllers for control systems.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Know what are the main types of electrical diagrams;
- Characterize electrical installations and command and protection equipment and motive power schemes;
- Read, interpret and modify electrical diagrams;
- Use the electrical circuit simulation tool;
- Use the computer-assisted design program for computer implementation of said schemes;

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
The pedagogical methodology to be used in this course is based on the expository method, with the resolution of exercises, simulation works and implementation of electrical diagrams in a computer-assisted drawing program. The ESTSetúbal/IPS Information System and the Moodle platform will be used to support teaching, namely as a repository of information, work delivery and possibly in carrying out self-assessment and assessment tests.

- Assessment of Theoretical/Practical Component (NT) – exam or 2 interim tests;
- Evaluation of the laboratory component (NL):
The Laboratory Component is composed of works carried out in AutoCAD,
works of simulation of electrical schematics in CADeSimu and works of assembly of schematics (NL).
- Individual work assessment (NTi):
The individual work is composed by the elaboration of the installations diagrams for the use of an apartment, carried out in AutoCAD (NTi).
The curricular unit is evaluated according to the following components:
1. Average grade of the two tests or exam grade (NT);
2. Laboratory grade (NL);
3. Grade of individual work on electrical installations of an apartment (NTi);
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
The final classification is calculated according to the following expression:
Final Grade = 0.6NT + 0.2NL + 0.2NTi
The minimum rating for any of the components (NT, NL, NTi) is 9.5.
