Objetivos

The objectives to be achieved are, in addition to the technical execution of the project, primarily as follows:
- develop the ability to address a real computer engineering problem, presenting a solution that can be implemented;
‐ provide students with a contact with the business reality, facilitating the approach to management practices and the practice of engineering, applied in companies

- plan the project phases with regard to deadlines, costs and necessary articulations;
‐ interface with other engineering specialties and other areas of knowledge;
‐ work in a team, distribute tasks and manage conflicts;
‐ Integrate and get involved in the company's activities.

Programa

The student can opt for an internship or a project.
The project will consist of solving a problem to be solved in the following phases: identification of the problem to be solved, organizational framing of the project, requirements analysis including the fundamentals and critical variables, project articulation with other projects and/or other existing products, main results to be achieved with the project with description of the main effects at a technological, commercial level and effects at the level of productivity, competitiveness or others.
Finally, software will be developed to solve the problem using technologies related to the CUs in the curriculum.
The internship aims to establish an effective link with employers. The internships will be developed in accordance with the “ESTSetúbal/IPS Curriculum Internship Regulation”.

Obtenção de frequência

There will be 2 presentation moments:

In addition to the final moment when submitting the report and project developed, there will be an intermediate moment for presenting the status of the work at the end of the 1st semester which will have feedback given by prof. UC coordinator, advisor and/or guest.

This intermediate moment is constituted by the delivery of the partial report of the project where the objectives, state of the art/related works and activities plan/execution schedule must be presented. Additionally, this report will be subject to a presentation by the student.

The final grade is obtained from the final presentation and consideration of the work submitted in accordance with EST-IPS Master's Regulations.

Delivery date for the 1st time of presentation by email submission to the advisor with the knowledge of the course coordinator: 01-03-2022. The presentation will be scheduled and communicated.

Final delivery date: according to ESTS-IPS calendar and regulations, respecting the necessary times for all steps that mediate the process from submission to discussion and release of the note.
