1. Variables and Logical Functions: Variables and Logical Functions; Logical Operators; Representation of Logical Functions; Boolean Algebra.
2. Synthesis and optimization of Boolean functions: Algebraic manipulation; Karnaugh Maps.
3. Microcontrolled State Machines.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem
In sessions of a more theoretical nature, the concepts of each of the themes of the program are taught. Illustrative examples of the various subjects are also developed and application exercises are carried out.
Following the Project Based Learning (PBL) model, team work is carried out with the presentation of its evolution at different moments and integration in the development of the conceptual project.

2. Programmable logic component of the project developed in the context of the CU of Equipment Control Project.
3. Individual written and/or oral test.
All evaluation components have a minimum score of 9.50.

Provas e trabalhos especiais
The holding of tests in the special period for senior students, working students and association leaders is subject to registration at the Secretariat in accordance with current regulations. The completion of a special period exam will always include a theoretical component and a project component. Students interested in carrying out the assessment at this period will have to inform the teacher in charge of their intention during the week after the publication of the final assessments in normal and appeal periods to define the schedule and establish the wording of the practical part of the exam.

Student Workers, High-Competition Athletes, Associative Leaders and Students under the Law of Religious Freedom must, during the first fortnight of classes, contact the person in charge of the UC to present their specificities, under the terms foreseen in the respective legal diplomas.

Taking exams for grade improvement purposes is subject to registration at the Academic Services in accordance with current regulations. Grade improvement is governed by conditions identical to those presented in the section "Exams and Special Assignments".

Registration on the Moodle page of the course is mandatory to access the available materials, to access the various assessment instruments and to submit all the work carried out.
