Objetivos

Learning objectives (knowledge, skills and competencies to be developed by students)

In the Circuit Analysis course, the aim is for students to acquire fundamental skills in the field of Electrical Engineering, specifically to understand and analyze direct and alternating current electrical circuits. Additionally, students are expected to possess tools (basic knowledge and bibliographical guidelines) that enable them to pursue and deepen their studies if desired.
To achieve these objectives, the course structure seeks to complement theoretical knowledge with problem-solving.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

At the end of this course, students will be able to analyze and interpret elementary electrical diagrams, as well as size and design basic electrical circuits.

Modo de trabalho

Presencial

Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)

Basic knowledge of mathematics.

Programa

In this course, basic notions of Electrotechnics will be given. Basically, topics such as:

Ohm's Law; voltage dividers; current dividers; association of resistors: series, parallel, star-triangle and triangle-star conversions; Kirchhoff's Laws; analysis of elementary circuits; application of diodes and LEDs; resolution of elementary circuits; Alternating Current; waveform, period and frequency; use of a circuit simulation program (Solve Elec) will be covered.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

In the theoretical-practical classes of this course, it is intended to stimulate the active participation of the student in their learning process, making use of their critical thinking. In the theoretical-practical classes, there will be a part associated with the presentation of the programmatic content of the course, always supported by another part associated with problem-solving. Theoretical-practical teaching is complemented by carrying out laboratory work.

Obtenção de frequência

The assessment consists of two components, which complement each other:
1- Four mini-tests (90%), where the learning of concepts and problem-solving skills are evaluated;
2- Two laboratory works (20%).

- APPROVAL CONDITIONS:

The final grade for the course will be calculated as follows:
- Final exam grade (NE), with a weight of 80%.
- In the case of distributed assessment or tests (NMTX), with a weight of 80% similar to the exam.
- Laboratory works (NL), with a weight of 20%.

The final classification of this UC is calculated by:
NF=0,8NE+0,2NL
or
NF= 0,3NMT1+0,3NMT2+0,2NMT3+0,2NL

Where: NMTX corresponds to the classification obtained in mini tests 1, 2 and 3.

The final grade of the discipline (NF) will have a minimum grade of 9.5 Values

Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)
