Objetivos

The Curricular Unit (CU) addresses the knowledge about Sustainable Development for definition of business strategies or nations strategies, but also in the application of instruments and evaluation models that allow to classify the sustainability of energy management and environment management. Throughout the CU, the student should be able to: identify the strategic guidelines of the Sustainable Development Policy; establish goals and targets for compliance with these guidelines; plan and monitor integrated actions for energy and environment management that concretize the achievement of goals and objectives; design and apply sustainable development evaluation models, customized to activities and processes.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

The Curricular Unit intends that the students acquire knowledge and skills that allow them to participate on sustainability evaluation of activities and technologies. Several environmental instruments are addressed. Methodologies for analysing and evaluating impacts on the environment and economy in Product Systems are also addressed. Reference will also be made to the importance of sustainability metrics in energy systems. Students will be able to evaluate environmental impacts of energy management plans
