Objetivos
It is intended that students acquire knowledge, skills and competences in Web development, with a main focus on client-side programming.
- Students must know and understand the web architecture.
- Students should know programming languages and technologies used for client-side (front-side) programming.
- Students must show the capability for designing a web application.
- Students must demonstrate skills for the development and implementation of a web application.
- Students must show aptitude and demonstrate skills for teamwork.
- Students must show aptitude and demonstrate communication skills.

The program content defined for this curricular unit will allow students to develop a Web application (client-side). The fundamental concepts of Programming for the Web will be covered, with a main focus on client-side programming.

It is important (but not mandatory) to have some prior knowledge of programming.

1. Client-side technology:
a) HTML5;
b) CSS;
c) JavaScript/ECMAScript;
d) Introduction to DOM (Document Object Model).

Theoretical and Practical Classes:
In these classes, the expository method will be used with the resolution of practical exercises. The active learning method will be applied in order to encourage and involve students in learning.
There will also be an ongoing practical work, thus adopting a project-based methodology.

The Project will be presented and made available to students during the course of the semester and consists of the creation of a small game using the technologies taught at the curricular unit (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)
