MI01 - ECTS
To provide students knowledge that allows them to read, interpret and create technical drawings and use current computer-aided design tools.
Elements of Mathtematics I
MI05 - ECTS
The general objective of this course unit is to provide students with the basic mathematical knowledge required in the professional training of a top professional technician.
Equipments and Malfunctions
MI03 - ECTS
It is intended with this Curricular Unit that students know the principles of operation of various electromechanical equipment. At the end of the Curricular Unit, students should be able to: - Participate in supervising the operating conditions of this equipment; - Identify and characterize the most frequent breakdowns in these equipments; - Recognize the main characteristics associated with the assembly, conduction and maintenance of equipment; - Identify safety conditions associated with the equipment.
The objective is to develop students’ knowledge of English in several areas, such as reading comprehension, writing, correct use of technical terms, grammar, fluency and personal interaction. Students will be acquainted with concepts and procedures used in the workplace, and will be able to apply technical language to specific contexts.
Materials
MI02 - ECTS
Promoting knowledge of different types of materials used in mechanical engineering: metals, polymers, ceramics and composites and the relationship between their properties, structure, process and service performance. Recognizing the need for design with new materials.
MI11 - ECTS
Provide students with the basic mathematical knowledge required in the professional training of a professional higher technician.
Electrotechnics
MI07 - ECTS
In the Curricular Unit (CU) ofElectrical Engineering, a basic discipline in the field of engineering sciences, it is intended that students acquire fundamental skills in the field of Electrical Engineering, namely to enable them to understand phenomena of an electromagnetic nature and to analyze electrical circuits in direct and alternating current. It is also intended that students are in possession of instruments (base knowledge and bibliographic guidelines) that allow the eventual continuation and deepening of studies. In structuring the CU, and in order to achieve the objectives, we seek to complement theoretical knowledge and problem solving with laboratory practice.
Fluid Mechanics
MI10 - ECTS
The main objective of this UC is to develop the student’s interest in the study of fluid mechanics, in order to know the main subjects of statics, kinematic and dynamics of fluids to solve the most common problems that arise in engineering.
General Mechanics
MI09 - ECTS
To transmit knowledge about the fundamental laws of Newtonian Mechanics, and their application to problems relevant to the course's knowledge area.
Industrial Maintenance Organization
MI12 - ECTS
Convey concepts about Maintenance, maintenance management and maintenance techniques
Machine Elements
MI08 - ECTS
At the end of the course the student should: - Know and identify the different machine elements and understand the particularities of their operation; - Understand the various phases of design process; - Design and verify simple components to static loading; - Design and verify simple components for fatigue.
The curricular unit aims to provide basic Automatic Control skills to CTESP Industrial Maintenance students.
Electrical Diagrams and Equipment
MI14 - ECTS
With this course is intended that the students learn how to interpret, explain and design standard electric circuits, as well as, have basic knowledge of a computer-aided design program for computer implementation of the schemes of such circuits. Design process automation systems, using relays and power contactors, as well as using programmable logic controllers for control systems.
