TGI04 - ECTS The course intends that students have knowledge:

magnitudes associated with electrical circuits in steady state.
the operation of electrical devices.
of the risks associated with the use of electricity, as well as the necessary procedures to make the installations safe.
management of electricity networks from production to end use.
of efficient electricity management solutions.

Business English

TGI08 - ECTS Business English aims at familiarizing the students with the English language in the context of business and management.

Some specific objects are:
- improve students’ competences in the following fields: reading, writing, listening and communication;
- critical analysis (of written documents);
- acquisition of vocabulary in the business area;
- develop other soft skills and students’ confidence and autonomy both in academic and professional terms.

  1. Provide students with the fundamental concepts of Cost Analysis;
  2. To make known the main mechanisms for processing financial information from an internal perspective, namely with regard to costing and budget management systems;

Mechanical Tecnology

TGI19 - ECTS It is intended in this course that students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge allowing the understanding of manufacturing processes in the field of mechanics. Students will acquire knowledge that will allow them to act in the various stages of technology intervention, ranging from design, production, and final quality control. It is also intended that the set of knowledge allows the management of available technology, to be acquired or subcontracted.

TGI21 - ECTS Provide the student with skills to analyze processes, in the environmental aspect, in its various descriptors, in order to define and implement plans with a view to improving environmental performance.

Statistics II

TGI38 - ECTS The curricular unit contents are structured, regarding its suitability for the intended learning outcomes.
Therefore, each subject approaches fundamentals concepts and practical applications by solving problems using the basic tools of Statistics to enable students to analyze certain phenomena of random nature, framed in the context of technology.

Elements of Operational Research

TGI18 - ECTS This curricular unit (CU) aims to present a first reference to the modeling of real problems of Operational Research, as well as to provide information about some of the techniques used in solving those problems. An approach will be taken to the various subjects according to the area of the Degree, in order to develop the capacity to apply the techniques of modeling and optimization to real situations.

  • Understand the new Industry 4.0 paradigms and the benefits of using new technologies such as CNC Technology, Mobile Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Collaborative and Systems Integration in the context of manufacturing
  • Provide a sequence of knowledge for the analysis, design, planning and improvement of production systems.
  • Deepen a set of core knowledge and use advanced production technologies, from technologies associated with the product design and its prototyping (CAD and Additive Manufacturing) to its manufacturing and assembly in larger scale (CAD / CAM, CNC, Robotics).
  • Develop skills to support the use of methodologies and softwares for modelling and simulation, with the aim to optimize the performance of manufacturing and assembly processes or design flexible manufacturing systems (FMS).
