Apresentação Pessoal

Catarina Ferreira dos Santos is a Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, Setúbal School of Technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2012 at the University of Aveiro. She actively participates in national and international projects. Her research objectives are focused on the area of nanotechnology (inorganic nanoparticles); 3D printing (hydrogels and composites); biomaterials (bioresorbable implants, functionalization of metallic and organic surface) and medical devices.
She is a co-author of several scientific papers published in international journals and  book chapters. She has participated in national and international events. 

She is responsible and teaches the following courses: Biomaterials and Nanotechnology to the Degree Course in Biomedical Technology, and Materials to the course of Energy Technologies and Applied Materials to the Master Course in Production Engineering and Smart nanomaterials to the Biomedical Engineering Master Course of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. Since March 2021 she is also Coordinator of the Degree Course in Biomedical Technology.
