Objetivos

The Applied Electrotechnical Course aims to provide students with a solid, rigorous and coherent, scientifically grounded base of competencies, the basic science of electrotechnical engineering, developing a critical and creative spirit. It allows to give a training in analysis of linear electric circuits, as much in direct current as in alternating current, single-phase and three-phase. The acquired competences are fundamental for the understanding of the subsequent curricular units of the area of the electrotechnical engineering.
Theoretical-practical teaching is complemented with laboratory work

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

Acquire knowledge of electrostatics
Describe and explain the concepts, characteristics, and properties of fundamental electrical quantities, as well as passive and active devices in electrical circuits.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

9.4.8. Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes.

In the Theoretical-Practical classes there will be an expositive part where the fundamental concepts of the different subjects are presented, followed by the resolution of exercises that facilitate the understanding of the concepts and their application. Students are encouraged to participate in resolving the exercises.

In the Practical-Laboratory classes a participatory method is followed. The group students, under the supervision of the teacher, carry out practical work with specific guides and report on the work done.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

The evaluation of the theoretical-practical component is done through four tests or an exam (NT).

The evaluation of the laboratory component (NL) consists of 10 laboratory tests and two lab tests.

The mark of the tests or exam (NT), will be equal to or higher than 10 values, having a weight of 65% in the final mark.

The laboratory score (NL) is calculated between the work done and the practical laboratory tests and must be equal to or greater than 10 values, with a weight of 35% in the final mark.

The final grade (NF) is given by: NF = 0.65 * NE + 0.35 * NL and must be greater than or equal to 10 values.
