Objetivos
Provide the student with skills to analyze processes, in the environmental aspect, in its various descriptors, in order to define and implement plans with a view to improving environmental performance.

analyze industrial processes and identify/characterize the main associated environmental aspects (environmental survey);
know how to interpret and apply environmental legislation;
to know how to prepare technical recommendations aimed at correcting any existing problems;
Know how to prepare technical recommendations aimed at improving the organization's environmental performance, including its framework in national and community policies - Circular Economy, Carbon Neutrality, National Program for Climate Change 2020/2030 (PNAC 2020/2030);
know the main processes and unit operations necessary for the treatment of water and wastewater;
to know the main processes and unit operations necessary for the treatment of emissions to the atmosphere;
know the main types of waste treatment

Programa
The course program will cover the following chapters:
1) Environmental problems in an industry and/or company
Identification of the main environmental aspects and assessment of an organization's environmental impacts;
Management principles with a view to preventing pollution and introducing some technologies.
Beginning of the interpretation of environmental legislation
Main Environmental Policies on the Environment (Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy, National Program for Climate Change 2020/2030 (PNAC 2020/2030), Reuse of Treated Wastewater, etc.)
2) Wastewater Treatment Technology
Identification of the main water pollutants and main characteristics of wastewater produced in various industrial sectors
Environmental legislation concerning wastewater in general and the industrial sector
Identification of the main processes and unit operations of a wastewater treatment plant (urban and industrial)
3) Treatment of Gaseous Effluents
Identification of the main air pollutants
4) Waste Management
Identification of different types of waste
Environmental legislation on waste management
Waste Management in an organization
Identification of the main waste treatments and destinations

The final grade is determined as follows:
Monitoring Forms – 10% (depending on the number of forms carried out)
Group Work (may include discussion/defense) - 45% (arithmetic average 2 parts)
Arithmetic average of tests or exam grade - 45
NOTE: The discussion can be carried out in person, in a Moodle forum or if justified by asking questions about the work that can be answered via email.
The performance of works that do not guarantee minimum requirements or that are the result of situations of total or partial plagiarism, lead to the non-approval of the work or, if the professor understands it, he may request its revision.
Student approval is obtained whenever all of the following conditions are met:
The final grade is greater than or equal to 10 values,
Realization of follow-up sheets,
The partial scores related to the final score determination points 2 and 3 are greater than or equal to 10 values.
The grade of each test must be equal to or greater than 7.5 (8) values.
