Provide the students with an active involvement in research and development activities, in projects with companies, social institutions and others, in addition to encouraging their participation in events and training within the course and in extracurricular activities to enriching their CV.
Their participation in projects will establish a relationship between the institution and society and the articulation of knowledge between them.
This curricular unit intends to focus its activity on partnership projects with organizations, be they companies, societies, associations that show interest in a real product; or research centers that are developing research projects.
To have the ability to seek extracurricular activities and develop transversal, interdisciplinary skills or personal and interpersonal qualities (soft skills and transferable skills), namely teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills, personal and professional ethics, knowledge transfer and adaptation to new contexts and realities in order to present a differentiating CV for the labour market.
There are no prerequisites
The students will be involved in different activities within the course. The syllabus will depend on the nature of these activities that will be approved and validated by the responsible for the curricula unit and which should be within the scope of the course.
Among the activities considered may include:
1) Participation in courses, seminars, micro-credentials and training actions with certification;
2) Participate in international mobility programs
3) Participation in innovative and entrepreneurial ideas competitions;
4) Research initiation R&D projects;
5) Volunteering actions (institutional);
6) Participation or organization of technical-scientific events;
7) Carrying out a short internship (162 h);
8) Completion of an isolated curricular unit (UCI) in another course.
9) Participation in supporting classes.
Each student's individual portfolio, with no maximum or minimum number of activities but which overall corresponds to 6 ECTS.
The portfolio is characterized by the development of one or more themes, a duration, a type and a person responsible. The theme of the activities must be related to one or more areas of the course.
The duration of the set of activities should not exceed 162 hours of individual work carried out by the student. In group work, the specific intervention time of the student in question must be identified and presented in the performance record.

Assessment of the activity: which results directly if it exists, or if it does not exist, the grade will be obtained by the weighted average of the 1st year UCs (failed CUs or those without a grade assigned at the time of posting the activity grade count on 10 values).
UC classification: weighting of activity classifications by the ECTS of each activity.
ECTS by activity: short internship - contact hours-; Isolated UC, international mobility and micro-credentials - whatever is defined -; certified courses - twice the expected number of hours; seminars - one and a half times the expected number of hours; remaining - by prior agreement.
Limits: Short internship cannot take place in the same academic year as the Internship. There are no limits in the number of activities carried out by the student.

Final Grade=sum(ECTS_ixGrade_i)/6, with ECTS_i the number of ECTS for each work and Grade_i the grade for that same work.
