Objetivos
Development of a work, with the preparation of a dissertation/project.
Due to its characteristics, this curricular unit, being based on the development of autonomous work by the student, duly supervised by a mentor professor and complemented with specialty seminars, allows to combine the ability to solve new and complex problems with knowledge of the state of the art. art in this area of expertise and the development of project-level skills in renewable energy and power systems.

This curricular unit provides students with skills that allow them to solve new problems in different contexts, including research and development aspects, namely:
know how to use advanced mathematical methods in research and development;
know how to carry out research and development, in their field of specialization, with high autonomy;
have in-depth knowledge of the “state of the art” of technology in your area of knowledge;
have significant design and supervisory experience in the development of renewable energy systems and power systems.

The dissertation or project report is subject to public assessment and discussion by a jury appointed by the Technical-Scientific Council.
The maximum duration of the test, including the oral presentation of the dissertation, is 90 minutes.
After the public discussion of the dissertation or project report, each member of the jury fills in a sheet with a rating on a scale of 0 to 20:
A – Scientific quality (60%)
B – Quality of public presentation (10%)
C – Public discussion (30%)
The student is approved if the majority of the jury members give a classification equal to or greater than 10 points.
