Objetivos

The Systems Integration Project curricular unit aims for students to develop, in conjunction with the CUs "Wireless Sensor Networks", "Management and Entrepreneurship", "Application Programming for Mobile Devices", "Introduction to Descriptive Statistics" and "Web Services Programming" the target skills of the topic related to the integration of various subsystems to create an Internet of Things system to which they relate. Students must acquire the necessary skills to make use of microcontrolled systems with wireless communication capabilities for data collection, systems for storing information, mobile applications and Web interfaces for accessing information, and where statistical analysis of data collected is considered. Students must also acquire entrepreneurship skills that must accompany the development of the project.

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

-Ability to develop a multidisciplinary project.
-Work as a team, with criticism and self-criticism skills.
-Development capacity from the specification phase to the final implementation and testing phases.
-Work in groups, with the distribution and coordination of the different project activities.
-Ability to research, analyze, choose and implement solutions in the various phases of the project.
-Integration of various components and technologies.
-Acquisition of technical knowledge independently.
-Oral expression ability when presenting the project and writing ability when preparing the technical report.

Componentes de Avaliação

Designation Peso (%)
Participação presencial 35,00
Defesa pública de dissertação, de relatório de projeto ou estágio, ou de tese 65,00
Total: 100,00

Componentes de Ocupação

Designation Tempo (Horas)
Elaboração de projeto 200,00
Frequência das aulas 150,00
Apresentação/discussão de um trabalho científico 5,00
Estudo autónomo 50,00
Total: 405,00

Obtenção de frequência

The realization of the project is based on previous project preparation work (TP) such as, for example, specification of the theme, definition of the methodologies to be used to organize the work, abstract representation of the idea to be implemented, execution planning, identification of platforms collaborations and tools to use and presentation of the complete project specification.
The period of implementation of the functional prototype (PF) follows, complying with the methods, plan and specification previously prepared and using the identified tools and platforms.
The project ends with the production of a final report (RF) and its presentation (Ap) before a jury. In addition to the technical aspects of project execution, the final report must explicitly describe the components of the business plan and statistical data analysis.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

NF = 0.15 x TP + 0.5 x PF + 0.2 x RF + 0.15 x Ap

NF: Final Grade
TP: Classification of project preparation work
PF: Classification of performance in project execution and quality of the functional prototype
RF: Classification of the final report
Ap: Classification of the presentation of the work before the jury

Notes:
(1) All assessment elements are represented on a scale of 0 to 20 values and are subject to a minimum score equal to or greater than 9.5 values.
(2) According to the assessment regulations currently in force, all installments are presented to 1 decimal place, except for the final grade (NF), which is rounded to the nearest unit.
(3) Some of the assessment elements may be obtained through peer assessment processes.

Provas e trabalhos especiais

Carrying out a project during a special period for final year students, working students and association leaders is subject to registration with the Secretariat in accordance with current regulations. Students interested in carrying out the project during this assessment period will have to inform the responsible teacher of their intention until the last day of face-to-face classes to define the calendar in time and establish the project statement. Failure to comply with this premise excludes the possibility of carrying out the assessment during a special period.

Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)

Working Students, High Competition Athletes, Association Leaders and Students under the Religious Freedom Law must contact the person responsible for the UC, during the first fortnight of classes, to present their relevant specificities, in accordance with the terms set out in the respective legal diplomas.

Melhoria de classificação

Given the strictly practical and collaborative nature of this UC, the possibility of improving the classification does not apply.

Observações

Attendance:
Based on the ESTSetúbal/IPS Student Achievement Assessment Regulations, the Pedagogical Council decided that, to undertake a UC in continuous assessment, the student must be present in a minimum percentage of 75% of classes (by type). Failure to comply with this rule excludes the student from continuous assessment, applying the rules and deadlines established in this course sheet.

Course Moodle page:
It is mandatory to register on the course's Moodle page to access the available materials and to access the various assessment tools.
