Objetivos
To provide students knowledge that allows them to read, interpret and create technical drawings and to use current computer-aided design tools.
Resultados de aprendizagem e competências
At the end of this curricular unit the student should be able to:
- Read and interpret technical drawings using the method of orthogonal projections;
- Draw freehand parts;
- Elaborate the design of a part in perspective;
- Draw, generate technical drawings and carry out simple assemblies using computer-aided design software.
Modo de trabalho
Presencial
Pré-requisitos (conhecimentos prévios) e co-requisitos (conhecimentos simultâneos)
No prerequisites.
Programa
1. General aspects of technical drawing
Introduction to technical drawing and norms
2. Orthogonal Projections
Types of planar projections. Multi-view projections. Free hand representations.
3. Cuts and sections
Definitions of cuts and sections. Types of cuts.
4. Dimensioning
General aspects about dimensioning. Principles of dimensioning.
5. Perspectives
Advantages and disadvantages of different representation types. Free hand representation of perspectives from object or from multi-views representations. Isometric dimensioning.
6. Fundamentals of Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

Obtenção de frequência
Final grade equal or higher than 10 values.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
45% Average of drawings to be executed during practical classes and moodle activities (mostly in classroom)
40% technical drawing project and CAD activities
15% CAD test
Min. grade in the CAD test: 8 val.
Penalty of 3 val. is applied for drawings not submitted on time.
Melhoria de classificação
For EN, ER and EE the final grade is calculated in the same way. The list of works to be done is diferrent.
