Objetivos

The objective is to develop students’ knowledge of English in several areas, such as reading comprehension, writing, correct use of technical terms, grammar, fluency and personal interaction. Students will be acquainted with concepts and procedures used in the workplace, and will be able to apply technical language to specific contexts.

The class will be team-based. Therefore, all the activities will follow the PBL methodologies in order to:
- provide students with a growing autonomy and sense of responsibility;
- stimulate team work;
- acquire knowledge in the IoT area.

Programa

The syllabus comprehends three main areas:

English in the context of the new technologies

Reading comprehension of updated texts concerning new emerging technologies/innovation

Debate and discussion of these topics

Technical English vocabulary

 Acquisition of specific technical vocabulary related to the area of the course.

Development of team work, research methods and soft skills.

The exam, for students who have an overall result inferior to 10, will consist of an individual assignement (100%) provided by the Professor.

Students can improve their final mark in Época de Recurso. This is an exam which requires previous enrollment at the Academic Division.
