To transmit knowledge about the fundamental laws of Newtonian Mechanics, and their application to problems relevant to the course's knowledge area.
he Power Electronics Fundamentals course covers the basic principles of electrical energy conversion, which is the process of transforming electrical energy from one form to another, such as from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) or vice versa. Some of the main areas of study include:
• Power Devices: Study of semiconductor devices used to control the flow of electrical currents, such as diodes, thyristors, and transistors, among others.
• Power Electronics Circuits: Analysis of electrical circuits that use power devices to convert electrical energy from one form to another, such as DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, and inverters, among others.
• Power Electronics Control: Study of control methods used to operate power devices and power electronics circuits efficiently, accurately, and safely.
• Power Electronics Applications: Study of various power electronics applications, such as renewable energy systems, electric motors, and power supplies, among others.
To provide specialized knowledge to the implementation of small scale microcontroller based projects and to develop the ability to be able to do critical analysis of microcontroller based systems, program debug and both autonomous and team work.
Provide students with the knowledge and skills that allow them to know the most common electronic systems in vehicles and intervene in their maintenance.
